Up In Flames

The last few days have been *CRAZY*
not a good kind of crazy.
Thursday evening we had a lightening storm
we lost power & a fire started.
Although it was sorta cool to watch the fire start (from a strike), it spread quickly.
Daxton's house was in danger.
&&&
then, magic (God) happened.
It started pouring rain.
*Never underestimate the power of prayer*
No one or any structures were harmed.

It seemed tho, that everything went up in flames!

Anyway, I will be in CARLIN, NEVADA August 17th & 18th
for Art in the PaRK.
I'm super excited!!!
This morning I worked on some paper flowers
My very first show I had some flowers just set out here 'n there
& none sold.
For Elko I packaged 'em up nice
& all of 'em were scooped up!
*Presentation is Everything*

Yesterday, KW, Ooitz, Sky and I went to Boise to pick up some Stuffs for the sale.
It was a nice, quick trip.
*I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family*
. . .
The Olympics are ending today
{sad face}
but what a great Olympics it has been.

Soo, this little dandy is going to a *Professional Photographer*

A super sweet gal here in Owyhee scooped it up from me & is giving it as a gift.
The photographer collects & uses unique chairs in her photo shoots.
*This is pretty darn exciting!!!*
Thank you Chela!

My Mr. was up in Homedale last night...
No good =(
But . . .

Kuna Days 2012

It was . . . a weekend.
I had a *great* time socially.
My family was there, I had an awesome neighbor, saw some old friends & made some new ones.
My dad is so good at logistics, I'm soo lucky to have his help
& he always makes sure to get my favorite drink =)
Just perfect.
*Financially . . . well, ahem, it was so-so.*
=(
I did, however, sell some stuffs that have been sitting for awhile. WHEW!!
That was a pleasant surprise.
& boy was it HOT!!!
I had a corner lot  & the first day I had all my walls closed but one
ummm...that was dumb, really dumb!!!
Friday night my mom suggested opening another side
& BOOM!
There were people everywhere
looking n looking.
(mom's always know best)
Needless to say, I had two sides open on Saturday & it was perfect!
The cutest little girl -no older than 3- stopped by & dragged her grandma in saying,
"This is my favvoritte stuff!"
(absolutely loved that she used the word 'stuff')
It was soo cute
&
was my favorite comment of the weekend!
I sent her off with a paper flower
which she thought was the greatest thing in the world
Aww!
I had several conversations similar to this:
"Do you have a shop here locally?"
"No."
"You should get one, your stuff is so cute!"
{BIG SMILE}
I can't lie, it was nice to hear.
& then the older couple . . .
They. Were. Cool!
They have been doing shows for (dare I say it) decades!
were full of advice, tips, encouragement n jokes!!
I was happy to meet such fun folks.
& was very encouraged!!
While we were packing up after everything was over
all my money was counted,
my mom says,
"Beth, why don't you just try selling hotcakes?!"
Now if you follow my blog you know that my mom will say,
"They're gonna go like hotcakes"
or
"That's gonna sell like a hotcake!"
& usually everything she refers to never sells! Haha.
Anyway, we all cracked up when she said this.
I mean no use being bummed out
& I really did have a fun weekend.
I'm already planning for the next show =)
. . .
Live Happy!!!

{Etsy} Packaging

I love seeing ____ *purchased your item* in my Etsy inbox!
Who doesn't, right?!
But it doesn't stop there,
prepping, wrapping & shipping makes me happy too
=)
I want my customers to feel like they're opening a special gift just for them
&
get that giddy feeling inside.
Tissue paper, a personalized card & a small paper flower are added to each of my packages.
And of course, a business card.

I'm off to set up for Kuna Days
. . .
It all starts tomorrow in Kuna, Idaho at 12:00
Come visit =)

Paris, France

Ever just feel like flying to France?
My mom wants to go on a daily basis (she's already been to Italy and Germany)
& Ooitz has even started saving money for a *Paris* trip.
Lucky me I've been!!!
I went on a two month vacay with my friend & her family in 2005.
We landed in London
-speaking of, are you watching the Olympics?!??
The Fab Five won GOLD!!!!-
and I had my first hostal experience . . . at The Generator.
There were many more to come, each completely unique.
After a few days in London we took a bus, a ferry & another bus to Pairs.
It. Was. Gorgeous!
The *Eiffel Tower* was so, so beautiful at night,
as was the view from the top!!
After Paris we were off to Germany,
where Rubina's mom is from.
& *I even took a German class for five weeks!!*
Can I speak any Deutsch? Nein! =)
How could I pay attention in class when there was so much shopping to be done afterward?!
From Germany we roamed around Austria & Italy for a few weeks,
I watched an *Opera*
& just in case you were wondering,
both a fat lady & a fat man sing...
I saw/visited the *Leaning Tower of Pisa**Ancient Rome**The Vatican**The Uffizi*
*The Rialto Bridge**Mozart's Home**The Berlin Wall**Big Ben**Tower of London*
*Buckingham Palace**The Mona Lisa**The Notre Dame**Shakespeare's Globe*
*Juliet's House**The Colosseum**
and some several castles, fountains & churches!!!
It was an amazing trip.
Thank you forever Dee Dee & Rubina!!

Rustic Wood & Old Boots

Remember that *special project*??
It started like this...
as in a few rustic boards & some old cowboy boots...
my dad started cutting...
turning his saw this way n that way...
checking, double checking,
 more cutting...
& when the all the saw dust settled...
we   my dad had created this
umm that. is. *awesome!*
I would have been completely satisfied with it!!
(cuz it looked good!)
But this is my dad we're talking about,
and he had a few more plans.
. . .

Daxton was up in Elko Saturday night,
so I took a break & went to cheer him on =)
& I dropped this off with a sweet gypsy soul.
Thank you Chelsie Gray!!
. . .
We (mostly my dad) resumed work yesterday morning.
A little more routing,
cutting, nailing...
& a few more nails just to be sure...
& voila! We had this masterpiece!!
Never underestimate the goodness of
*rustic wood, old boots, power tools and a wonderful dad*
It was soo much fun working together to get this done
&
I had such a great time!
Thanks dad!!!
. . .
My favorite comment:
So cool! You even managed to make the horse and lawn mower look so realistic! :0)

Cowboy

Tuesday, I was on my second trip to my apartment
with an armful of Wonderful JUNK
I was thinking . . .
my neighbors prolly think
I'm a HoARdER!!!
I'm not, I promise.
=)
My Mr.'s buckles . . .
I've found that when people can visualize
what something can be used for
it helps a lot.

One week until Kuna Days!!!
